2018 – Present

2018: We launched a multi-month proof-of-concept programme in conjunction with two partner schools in Nairobi.

Introduction to Visual Coding

Utilizing the open source PencilCode curriculum, we implemented a 12-week programme at VICODEC School near Ongata Rongai, which provided training to over 250 students in Grades 5 – 8.

We trained a team of 12 VICODEC teachers as trainers using a Trainer Of Trainers approach, leveraging both online and in-person instruction.

Introduction to Immersive Game Design and Unreal Engine

Using live-streams with U.S. industry partners Gearbox Entertainment, we introduced Unreal Engine 4 to students at Multimedia University of Kenya in Langata.

2019: We were awarded an Epic Games MegaGrant to continue to promote UE4 in Kenya as a tool for content creation across multiple industries.

2020: We conducted a series of workshops at iHub Nairobi to build relationships with the local nascent developer community to discover gaps in training and professional development.

2021 – now: As a recipient of an award from the inaugural grant-making programme at Unity Technologies, we have been growning our Trainer Of Trainers programmes in conjunction with the Africa Digital Media Institute and CompTIA.
